Youth Program Review

In 2013, Scouts Australia embarked on major review of the scouting program named the “Youth Program Review”.  Scouting in Australia hasn’t really changed since the 1970 and this program of work was undertaken to modernise Scouting in Australia.

During 2018 Scouts Australia will be preparing Scout Groups across Australia for the release of the new program in 2019.  On the 11th October, Dayboro Scout Group were privileged to have Karl Lingard (Region Development and Support Officer – Scouts Queensland) attend our Parent Committee meeting and provide a overview of the Youth Program Review.  Karl has offered to come back to our group on Monday 19th November 2018 to provide more detailed information to Dayboro Scout Group parents AND Dayboro community members.  Listening to Karl speak is refreshing and he provided a glimpse into a very positive future for Scouting in Australia.

The Youth Pogram Review encourages greater input from Scout members into the running of the program, greater interaction between Scouting members, in particular between the different sections and a more seemless transition between Sections as the Scout member progresses.  More information on the Youth Program Review can be found here.

I encourge all Dayboro Scout Group parents to attend this important infomation session and spread the word to every one in Dayboro community that may be interested or even slightly curious about Scouting.    You will also have the opporunity to meet parents from the other Scouting sections at the Dayboro Scout Group and members of  the Parent Committee.

The information session will be held on the 19th November 2018 at 1700 at the Dayboro Scout Group Den
