Dayboro Joeys

Life as a Joey Scout

Life as a Dayboro Joey Scout is full of discovery and excitement! As a Joey Scout you’ll be part of the Dayboro Joeys Mob which is full of energetic kids just like you.

Who are Joey Scouts?
Joey Scouts are the youngest members of the Scouting Family. They are boys and girls aged from 6 and 7. Like all 6 and 7 year olds, Joey Scouts have boundless energy, an infinite curiosity and a desire for adventure. Scouting offers an outlet for this and so much more.

The First HOP!
Come along and see what it is all about. Try the activities and games. Come along with a friend or make friends on the night. Let Joeys become the beginning of your Scouting adventure.

HOP into Fun!
The meetings are for one hour only, once a week in school terms, and are full of games, activities, songs and stories.

HOP into Adventure!
Follow a theme and let your imagination take you into the world of the unknown—become an alien, a knight or princess, a time traveller or even a clown. There is no end to what a Joey Scout can do or become.

HOP into the Outdoors!
Joey Scouts participate in outdoor activities such as the Joey Jaunt, Skillorama, excursions, sleep overs and the occasional Mob Holiday.

Joey Scouts HOP Together
The philosophy of Joey Scouts is to care, share and help others. This is reinforced through our program of games, activities and craft.

Activities that Dayboro Joeys attend are pack and district camps, day outings to Southbank Parklands, etc.  When attending camps, Dayboro Joeys are responsible for settiing up their bed inside the Den, washing thier dishes and being reponsible for their belongings.

Dayboro Joeys meet at 5:00PM to 6:00PM every Monday

Joeys wear a uniform consisting of navy blue shorts and a shirt with dark red shoulder and sleeve stripe that can be obtained from The Scout Shop which is only available online.  Recent changes have meant that Scouts Queensland have closed their uniform shop at Auchenflower.  Sometimes second hand uniforms may be available from previous Joeys so be sure to check out our classifieds.

Information on the correct placement of badges can be found in this document.

We have just moved into the area and my son would love to try scouts. He has just turned 7. Would we be able to come and see if he likes it on Monday? I think he would still be a joey?

Look forward to hearing from you
    Many thanks
